North-American Same-Sex Dancesport Association

You’re invited to help create a new organization that will:

Be a membership organization and operate as a non-profit
Have as its primary focus same-sex ballroom dance in North America
Function as a transparent, inclusive, and accountable organization
Provide consistent standards, guidelines, and definitions for same-sex competitions
Coordinate scheduling and disseminate information for the growing number of same-sex ballroom competitions in North America
Members would include dancers, competitors, teachers, event organizers and other interested parties
Respect and encourage diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, disability, and gender identity and expression

As far as we know, no existing organization has this structure, scope, and intention.

Call for Nominations to Board of Directors

To create this organization, we are putting out a Call for Nominations for 7 members of the founding Board of Directors. Each nominee must provide 2 supporting nominators. You may nominate yourself.

Elections to be held December 15-31, 2007

Voter Registration is open from November 5, 2007 to December 13, 2007.

Anyone who participates in same-sex ballroom dance in North America (dancers, competitors, teachers, event organizers and other supporters) is eligible to vote.
